Book Review: WitchCraft Cocktails by Julia Halina Hadas
I bought this book for 3 reasons:
witchcraft
cocktails
my friend Dana kept posted all these gorgeous cocktails on instagram and I needed to start making some for myself!
I was 100% delighted by WitchCraft Cocktails! First off, it is simply gorgeous -- I can't resist a hardcover that doesn't have a dust cover. The entire book design is just beautiful, and every illustration makes me want to reach right into the page, grab that cocktail, and take a sip! I basically keep this book on display in my kitchen, right near my go-to cocktail supplies!
Okay, so how are the recipes? FANTASTIC. I really enjoyed the introduction that prepped me a little bit, discussion the witchy roots and intentions behind these recipes, as well as teaching me a little about being a mixologist and crafting some of my own syrups (I had so much fun with that part).
I tried so many different recipes, for myself and for friends -- they all turned out fabulous! What I love about them is that they are actually crafted with intention. Each recipe has a meaning that is demonstrated with each ingredient it includes. Making one of these cocktails feels like a special ritual that will not only result in a delicious drink, but will manifest my intentions as well.
