Book Review: A Year of Mindful Wellness by Lisa Feder
The Book: A Year of Mindful Wellness: Twelve Months to Stress Less and Live More by Lisa Feder
Source: I bought this book because the author is my meditation mentor!
My Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (see my review on Goodreads)
I had the pleasure of getting to know Lisa Feder through her guided meditation classes, back when people were still going to the office every day and I was privileged to work for a company that provided this to employees multiple times each week. Out of all the guided meditation practices I’ve experienced, Lisa’s method of iRest Yoga Nidra was transformative for my wellbeing, and I don’t know where I would be without it.
Anyway, when I realized that Lisa had written a book, of course I had to read it right away (and kicked myself for missing her live author event at our local indie bookshop). What I loved so much about this book is that it’s not just a guide, but it’s a personal exploration of her experience and spiritual growth. Reading this felt like sitting with a friend in a cozy cafe, listening to her share her life with me. Bonus: each chapter comes with a simple practice that you can incorporate into your life to create more mindfulness and connect with yourself each day! I really appreciate how it was broken down into digestible bits, and this helped my partner and I (we often read nonfiction books together — slowly) to really enjoy the contents. I’m so glad I found Lisa’s mentorship and her book!
